General Conference October 2013

This weekend marked the 183rd Semi-Annual General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was the first time in many years that I've watched or listened to every single session, including the Relief Society General Session the week before. Many wonderful messages were brought to us by the leaders of the Church. My favorite was one given by
Elder Adrian Ochoa, that we need to "LOOK UP". Something I don't find myself doing very often. Today was the day for me to start. We were on our way to my doctor appointment, when the car would not keep running. It starts, but won't keep on going. Continually stalls out. I am keeping a positive attitude that all will be well. That it will be fixed and we will make it to David's appointments tomorrow. There must be a reason why Heavenly Father didn't want us on the roads today, making the 17 mile drive to Gainesville. We may not know that reason, ever, but I believe there is one and it was His way of protecting us. David is at the garage as I type this having it looked at. Although we can't really afford car repairs at this time, I have faith that Heavenly Father will see us through this.

Coming along...

David had an interview Sunday night with the bishop. Last night he met with a member of the Stake Presidency. This Sunday, June 10th, he will be presented to the Priesthood for ordination in the Melchizedek Priesthood as an Elder!
We are getting closer to being sealed for time and all eternity!
I am proud of him. He's done some hard things this past month or so of giving up some habits he's had for many, many years.
Hopefully, we will be able to have Denise sealed to us as well.

Also on the 10th, we will be doing a magic show for the highest bidder of our auction we donated to Haven Hospice.

So much has been happening.
We moved back to Florida October 13, the day of my disability hearing.
I got my disability....for 3 years. They tend to think that my fibromyalgia will *improve* along with my arthritis and diabetes. Yeah, right!
Anyway...been busy lately with the magic club David and I belong to, and doing some things on our own.
Have done 2 shows with the club since December 28th and volunteered Walk-A-Round for Haven Hospice's VIVA2012 in Alachua, Florida, where we auctioned off a magic show. The winner called us and we should be scheduled for June 10th for that.
Loving spending much time with Brandi and her family.
Picking up Mackenzie on Mondays while Brandi has class.
Spent 4 fun filled days with Serenity for a 4-night sleep over during her spring break a few weeks ago.

Only one week????

Of summer? And we had that 2 weeks ago when it was near 100 a few days and in the lower ninety's the rest!

It's June 15th and David and I are trying to get ready to move back to Florida. Things aren't moving as well as we'd hoped by now.
Still waiting on surgery for my knee and doctor appointments for the scar tissue/adhesions I suffer with on an almost daily basis. But no one wants to create another scar to rid my stomach of those. Looks like it may be something I'll have to live with for the rest of my life. It's no fun not knowing when an attack will hit.

Went to the free REO Speedwagon concert at the Bayfront Amphitheater Sunday, June 12, with my brother Gary and met our cousin, David and his daughter, Emily there. Had a great time listening to all the old songs I enjoyed growing up from REO and Georgia Satellite.

Tired of the pain...

...but at least now I know what the cause is. Found out the end of December that I have Fibromyalgia. The past two days have been the worst so far.
Hopefully today will be better so I can get out and enjoy some of the beautiful sunshine and warm air that Heavenly Father has provided for us for at least today.
It's supposed to get colder tonight and snow again.
Really can't wait to get back to Florida. I just wish it wasn't taking so long for my SS hearing.
I'm getting so frustrated by the entire situation.

Dakoda enjoyed showing off his tumbling skills for Nana and Papa on Sept. 18, 2010. That was until big brother tried taking over all the attention!
He is such a ham and we enjoy the time we can spend with him and his big sister and brother.

It's been a cold, wet weekend.
Went to my first arena football game Friday night, Erie's Storm played Richmond Virginia. It was a lot of fun!
Saturday we went to the Erie SeaWolves first home baseball game. Only $6.25 got us ticket to the game, free ballcap and a combo meal at Arby's! Great deal! Planning on the next Friends and Family event on May 22.

Katelin is thinking about moving in with us. Although she's a bit torn about leaving her mom. She'd be better off with us, where she'd get lots of attention from her dad and me. We'd love to move back to Florida by the end of summer. Might still do it even if she decides to stay with her mom. She needs to let us know before we take the $$ to file for custody.
Then again, if we file, and win,she might just have to come with us.
I'd love to have her here.
There is so much I could do with her. She loves learning new things and wants to do some crafts. Can't do it if she's not here that much.
Right now all we see her is on Sunday afternoons.

I really want to go back to Florida. I'm not adjusting to the store here in Erie as I'd hoped. Although things have been going a bit better the past couple of months. I'd still rather be at the store in Gainesville if I have to work.

Missing my kids who are both in Florida now.
